‘Twas the outfit before Christmas, when all through the house,
I searched for an outfit, a dress or a blouse?
The cashmere was hung, color coordinated with care,
I had a full closet but nothing to wear!
My stockings were nestled all snug in the drawer,
While I dreamt of Prada, Chanel, and Dior.
And Kendall Jenner in Balmain, and I in bare feet,
Designer covered models, how can I compete?
When outside my apartment, there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my vanity to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Put on my pink slippers, and tied my robe’s sash.
City lights on the sidewalks with new-fallen snow
gave the appearance of a runway to objects below,
when, what from the sparkling snow had arose,
but a magical wardrobe full of designer clothes.

Out came a lady, more stylish than any other,
I knew in a moment it must be my Fashion Godmother!
More rapid than a sample sale, her creations they came,
and she whistled and shouted and called them by name:
“Now Fendi! Now Chloe!
Now, Dolce and Gabbana!
On, Celine! On, Burberry!
On, Tom Ford and Balenciaga!
She was dressed all in couture, from her head to her shoe,
and her outfit all sparkled with diamonds and Miu Miu.
A wink of her eye and a flip of her hair
soon gave me to know, magic was in the air.
She spoke not a word, but went straight to her work,
and filled up my closet, then turned with smirk.
And tapping her wand on the tip of my nose,
My body was adorned with designer clothes!
My Manolos–how they twinkled! My bag, Valentino!
My cheeks were contoured, my phone case, Moschino.
I couldn’t believe it, how could it be,
A Montana native draped in Givenchy!
And a Max Mara jacket to keep out the cold,
Fashion Godmother, this outfit is Instagram gold!
I sprang to my Uber, but before hitting the town
I needed to say thank you, the driver wouldn’t slow down,
But I heard my Fashion Godmother exclaim, ‘ere we drove out of sight,
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
Bailey,
Your version of “Night before Christmas” is just perfect in every way! I enjoyed reading this so much. And you look amazing in your couture!
