Not only is the summer night sky filled with stars, so is our clothing. Since when? Well, I like to think that Valentino, Stella McCartney, and Riccardo Tisci all went camping (probably more like glamping) and while roasting marshmallows, couldn’t help but notice how beautiful the stars were and decided to feature them on their latest boots, bags, and blouses. It’s far fetched but we can pretend that was the beginning of the star print fashion trend.
Stars have fallen from the sky onto the runways of Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, Stella McCartney, Valentino, and Gucci. Luckily for me, the stars also migrated to retailers like Zara, Nordstrom, ASOS, and Forever 21. While I wasn’t ready to commit to a head to toe celestial look, I chose a subtle star print blouse from Zara.
Lately, I’m really into casual looks that are purposefully put together and stylish. I obsessed with fashion blogger Sincerely Jules’ fashionable, perfectly casual, cool girl look. After stalking her Instagram and blog, I wanted to create my own version of her effortless casual style.
I was immediately drawn to this army green blouse because of the trendy star print and that I can wear it into fall. I liked that this blouse could be worn open or closed and I could almost imagine Julie Sarinana wearing it. Since the stars are so subtle, I chose this lightly striped tan top to compliment the pattern.
To make my look Sincerely Jules approved, I added this pair of white shorts (which I honestly didn’t think I would wear this summer). Although they are pretty short, the contrast of the baggy blouse makes them less daisy-duke-esque. The addition of my trustee black vans and fringe purse give that laid back look.
Okay, let’s talk about these Karen Walker Harvest Sunglasses c/o Ditto -(use code: hotdresshotmess for a free month of designer sunglasses!) You guys, I’m obsessed! Karen Walker did it perfectly with the Harvest sunglasses – they are the ultimate cool girl/chic sunnies. Plus they fit my small face…score!
I wanted my accessories to be simple but not too delicate and feminine. My Rocksbox jewelry turned out to be the perfect match for this outfit with this Nakamol Blush & Gold Wrap Bracelet, Wanderlust + Co Triple Zeta Ring, and Gorjana Cress Shimmer Studs (details below). I loved that this outfit came together so effortlessly.
I hope you enjoyed this outfit as much as I did. Now go wrap up summer and welcome fall covered in stars…you know you already are one ★
Thank your lucky stars for these pieces and prices!
I’m including designer star pieces to swoon over or invest in!

I just loving your writing style! And I dig the celestial trend – I picked up a pair of star cut-offs for a music festival last weekend!
Love the laid back vibe in this look! Star prints are so cute, reminds me of early teens. ;) Everything definitely comes back in style at some point!
