Ah, the introduction of fall – booties, crisp air, and the infamous Pumpkin Spice Latte that turns the best of us into basic bitches. I don’t care; I will drink those until the end of time. As many of us know, sometimes buying new clothes just isn’t in the budget. [Screw you car and your high repair costs] With that being said, finding new ways to wear old pieces is crucial.
I blogged about this skirt earlier this spring, and paired it with a blue and white stripe button-up. The light tan color was perfect for a light, classic look. Now autumn, this skirt works great with black tights and boots and a plethora of accessories. Seriously, I couldn’t pick one – scarf, bold earrings, 70’s wide brimmed hat?!
I decided to keep the look simple and channel autumn colors with a scarf and a little edgyness with the jacket.

This scarf is from H&M and covered in butterflies. Gasp butterflies!? Usually the thought of that creature gives me a few images: tramp stamp, Mariah Carey, and those tiny hair clips from the 90’s. Butterflies have made a comeback and thank God, in a much more chic way. We can all thank Valentino, Givenchy, and Alexander McQueen for that.
The fact of the matter is, closets are not endless and credit cards can only be swiped so many times (Though, I will try and deny both). Building a wardrobe is about finding pieces that can be worn multiple ways and in multiple seasons. If you’re short on cash all you need is a little creativity to bring your wardrobe into a new season.
