Pleated skirts are my latest obsession for fall fashion. The pleated skirt is absolutely gorgeous, airy, and the crisp pleats totally satisfy my love for neatness. And it may be the perfect complement to my last minor obsession, the velvet bootie.
Today I’m going to share 3 reasons why you need a pleated skirt for fall and all the ways you can style it!
1. Versatile
When I shop for clothes, one of the first things I ask myself is, how often can I wear this? When I saw this navy pleated skirt at Uniqlo, about 10 different outfits popped into my head. Pleated skirts are SO versatile both in how you can style it and where you can wear it. I’m really looking forward to wearing my skirt with flats at the office and sneakers on the weekends.
2. Comfortable
An elastic waistband, loose fit, and you don’t have to worry about flashing your undies? Perfection! You don’t have to worry about being uncomfortable in this fall fashion trend.
3. Effortlessly Chic
My favorite pieces of clothing are the ones that instantly elevate your look because of their structure and style. A pleated skirt’s feminine, clean lines, and flowing hemline makes any outfit effortlessly chic.
Now that you know you need a pleated skirt, how will you decide how to style it?
1, With your favorite tee – Wearing your favorite tee is the easiest way to style your pleated skirt. Go for a “More Issues than Vogue” tee or a classic white tee for an effortless look.
2. With a button up blouse + heels – A classic, work appropriate way to wear a pleated skirt is with a button up blouse and heels never goes wrong.
3. With your bomber jacket + sneakers – Get on the athleisure trend and pair your pleated skirt with a bomber jacket and sneakers for a laid back, cool girl look.
4. With an untucked turtleneck – If you want that New York Fashion Week look, try wearing your skirt with an untucked turtleneck, the baggier the sweater the better.
5. With a belt – Accessorize your outfit and show off your waist with a belt! I’m personally dreaming of Gucci or Hermes.
