The holiday season is upon us and of course that means holiday shopping. Making a holiday shopping plan helps me maintain a budget, get meaningful gifts for the people I love, and not stress out rushing to shop on December 23. Start your holiday shopping this year and stay within your budget by following my Cyber Monday, Black Friday and Small Business Saturday shopping tips!
Cyber Week and Cyber Monday: Friday November 25 – Monday November 28
God is good and he said, let the shoppers never have to leave their houses! Haha not really. Cyber week starts as early as Friday November 25th and continues through November 28th. During Cyber Week and Cyber Monday, here’s some shopping tips:
1. Look for purchases that you can’t get in stores or don’t want to wait in line for
2. Don’t purchase items that you’re unsure will look good or fit
3. Look for limited edition sets or holiday gift sets at competitive prices (Sephora gift sets)
4. Do your research and be prepared for sales before items sell out
5. Check your Promotions email folder since many stores let their email subscribers know about sales early and provide additional discount codes.
Black Friday: Friday November 25
This is the day for all the hardcore shoppers out there…you know who you are. For Black Friday, I have participated in Black Friday before so here are my shopping tips:
1. Don’t shop just to shop. I don’t suggest going out for a day of shopping to see if you get good deals. Chances are, you’ll end up buying a bunch of cheap, random things.
2. Go to stores that won’t be completely out of control unless you have to. Only go to Best Buy if you 100% need something there. Browsing in overcrowded store on Black Friday will drive you insane.
3. Plan ahead. Start researching and know exactly where you’re going and exactly what you’re buying.
4. Be aware of your budget: Don’t blow your money stocking up on deals that aren’t worth it.
Small Business Saturday: Saturday, November 26
I love Small Business Saturday! It’s less crazy than Black Friday and it gives you the warm fuzzies knowing you purchase when to a small business person rather than a large corporation. Enjoy my shopping tips for Small Business Saturday:
1. Enjoy making a day out of shopping. Have a family day strolling from store to store supporting local shop owners
2. Remember small businesses are online too! You can still support local businesses sitting from home eating leftover pumpkin pie.
3. Check your favorite store’s social media to look for special items or promo codes
4. Look for small business soirees! Many small businesses hold small events during shopping hours. Might as well shop and sip mimosas too!
My best tip for small business Saturday is to encourage EVERYONE to find 4 small biz’s to shop at. The success of that day is so important to small businesses! Great post and thank you for mentioning the little guys!
You know, I’ve never actually shopped on Cyber Monday or Black Friday but these stores you’ve got listed here are all my favourites! I may have to take a look! :)

Great tips babe! I’m from Canada and the shopping trends here are a little different. I don’t think it is nearly as hectic as in the US. I lived in the States for 10 years so I’ve experienced both. I love the excitement and rush of holiday shopping! Thanks for sharing :)
This is such a good post! I shared on Twitter! Love your shopping tips, babe! xoxo
These are such great shopping tips! I sometimes get carried away and just shop to shop on these days. Love the small businesses you shared!!!
These are some great shopping tips! I love planning ahead. Your idea of Sephora gift sets is so smart. They make the best limited edition sets!
Keep smiling!

I’ve never done Black Friday, Cyber Monday, etc. It’s so stressful. Online is definitely a much better option!

I really wish I lived in the US so I could take advantage of these sales! I wonder if Canada will be having some of their own anyway! I’ll have to keep an eye out!
